Curiously, despite this, the last person to live here was one of the oldest male residents in the Republic, passing in 2010 at the age of 106. The exposed stonework, reveals that this cottage was constructed out of large, possible gentry stones, removed from an estate house which was demolished at that time. The cottage is set at the lowest point on the plot, the field behind rising quite steeply.
The cottage has not been cleared and is for sale as is, with all contents and history.
